The Residents Association, or Ratepayers Association as it was then know, was first formed in 1975. Lindie Pagden, who is still resident in the village today, was one of the founder members. In those days the Chairman and Vice Chairman attended all Divisional Council Meetings and were able to personally table the wishes of the community.
The success of the village in those days, was the close communication between Council and the Ratepayers and the transparency of the process.
The Residents Association has instituted a process which will hopefully lead to much greater input by Ratepayers in local Government in the near future. It is believed that a well run Municipality is critical if properties in area are to maintain or increase in value.
