Hi Folks Let me start with a reminder of our AGM to be held in the Village Hall on Monday 19th December at 18h00 where we will be giving feedback from the various portfolios and planned actions for 2012. We look forward to seeing you there. Please be aware next Monday, December 5th, the municipal contractors will be shutting off the water supply to the Village for up to five days while the new main water pipeline across the Sand River is installed. This means we will be dependent on what water there is stored in the reservoir for that period. Please use water sparingly until the work is completed. Many thanks to all those members that paid their subscriptions for 2012 this month, your contributions are greatly appreciated. As the holiday period fast approaching is one of family gatherings and much entertainment, please take heed, once again, to points Keith Donaldson of the St Francis Bay Fire and Rescue has compiled Click here Rotary Recycling Project Spreads to St Francis Bay Click here to read more. On a lighter note, Lyn Aitken of Rotary, reports that a not to be missed children's Christmas event this year is Uncle Jumbo's Safari Party, modelled on the legendary Uncle Jumbo's Christmas Party in Port Elizabeth. The Safari themed party is to be held for the first time at St Francis College near St Francis Bay on R330 on Saturday, December 3 and the public are invited to join in the fun organised and hosted by the school's Earlyact Club, the junior wing of the St Francis Bay Satellite Club of the Jeffreys Bay Rotary Club. For those who don't know how a Rotary Uncle Jumbo's party works, the event will take place from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. with Father Christmas scheduled to make his appearance at around 3 p.m. Parents are asked to bring their children and a wrapped and labelled gift for each child to the school gates in good time. The children will then be treated to a tractor ride into the party grounds giving parents an opportunity to drop their gifts at the collection point ready for Father Christmas to hand out. Lots of fun for everyone is planned for the afternoon including tractor rides, puppet shows, and games and competitions devised by the Earlyact team. Parents are encouraged to bring a picnic and settle on the lawns with plenty to eat on hand at the tea garden and boerewors roll stand. There will be an entrance fee of R50 per child. Tickets are available at the College (042 2941395) and parents can call Bruce Brooker on 0836771041 for more information. Proceeds from the day will go towards the various Rotary projects in St Francis. Kind regards from a very rain soaked St Francis Bay Jacky Green
