Hi Folks April seems to have come and gone at the speed of greased lightning – what with all the public holidays. It has been great seeing St Francis fill up with holiday makers, hopefully a good time was had by all even though the weather once again was somewhat fickle! This coming month of May should prove to be a fascinating one what with the MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS ON THE 18TH MAY. As stated in the last newsletter - SFBRA is not a political organization. We will support anyone who will get the job done properly. The interests of our members and local community are best served by a transparent, efficient and honest local council. Again as stated last month by all accounts the coming elections are likely to be close – EVERY SINGLE VOTE COUNTS – PLEASE USE YOURS WISELY! Many thanks to those who heeded my request to pay your annual subscription for 2011. Please - if you're reading this and haven't yet joined or paid your annual subscription, why not do so today. The annual subscription is R360 or pensioners may elect to pay a reduced fee of R240. It is a proven fact that where the majority of residents work together these areas become better communities – improving your property values too! There are ever increasing numbers of ‘day/casual labourers’ gathering at the junction of Assissi Drive and St Francis Drive each morning waiting for employment. This is becoming a security and health issue with burglaries reported from residents in that area. Please do not exacerbate the problem by hiring from this location. Those wishing to employ casual labourers are strongly advised to only hire from the legal pick-up point at the ‘Taxi Rank’ in Sea Vista. The Police have kindly agreed to monitor this situation. The Resident’s Association had a feedback Public Meeting on Tuesday 26th April for those interested holiday makers in town over the Easter break. The agenda for this Public Meeting was the apprising of the administration and finances together with the Chairman’s Report on the current Kouga Municipality status and the St Francis Bay Resident’s Association’s position. Click here to read these Minutes. Best regards |
