Hi All This is just a short note to introduce myself, Jacky Green, to you all. I am now your St Francis Bay Residents Association ‘woman on the ground’. The manned office is up and starting to run. We will be open from 8.30am to 1pm Monday to Friday but I am available, in emergencies, any time on my cell. So, please pop in to meet me. ‘Out of towners’ please contact me if you need any assistance, those coming down for Easter please also feel free to come round and meet me. It will take a week or two to get all things organised and it’s with much gratitude that Paddy will be helping me for some time. I am currently setting up admin systems and will start handling the trickier issues shortly. Emails will now be received by me and I will be sending out informative emails at least once per month but also as and when key issues arrive. We are in the process of amending the subscription system and will be in contact shortly. Many thanks for emails received in response to our last bulk email request as to your opinions on subscription charges. Those still ‘pondering’ please give us your views as we would like to arrive at a fee that genuinely reflects the general consensus. Currently there is much going on locally with respect to our Committee’s on-going vigilance with the municipality. The committee has been reliably informed that due to massive mismanagement and corruption, the Kouga municipality is now formally ranked by the government as one of the financially worst run municipalities in RSA and is virtually bankrupt having massively overspent, despite dire warnings from the SFBRA last year. The province is in the process of a forensic audit but is still being obstructed in their duties in attempting to carry the audit out. The need for taking direct legal action is clearly apparent and the committee is in the process of seeking specific council. I will keep you informed of developments on this issue and others! We realise that many overseas ratepayers have problems receiving their Municipal accounts in time for payment. I would like to offer the service of scanning in your Municipal accounts and emailing these to the relevant persons. Those rate payers wanting me to do this would have to notify the municipality to change the postal address to that of the SFBRA.
