Hi Folks,

There is plenty going on in St. Francis Bay as per usual. Firstly we have a Public Meeting (special request by some ratepayers) on 21st September at 5pm at St. Francis Links. Please make an effort to attend, as we will be updating you on the status of the Dispute and also be explaining a couple of very confusing anomalies in your Municipal Accounts.

I would like to emphasise that the Dispute with the Municipality is primarily about Poor Management, misuse of funds and ongoing financial mismanagement. This in turn leads to poor service delivery.

Thanks to those who have sent in their signed Personal Dispute Forms, we have quite a number already, but we ask those who have as yet not done this, to please download this form, complete and send back to us. Click here for Dispute Form, fill it in and then either fax it to 042 294 1228 or scan it in and email to contact@sfbresidents.org These forms will be handed in on 2nd December once the deadline of 1st December has been and gone, and should the KM not accede to our demands.

You will notice that the KM has introduced a very expensive rate for Temporary Electricity Connection for new buildings. This rate is more than 5 times the normal rate charged and will continue to be charged until the Home is complete and an Occupation Certificate is obtained. We ask that Builders and Estate Agents warn their Clients about this charge. The Residents Association will be taking this matter up with the Municipality and we advise that you also lodge your objection to this.

Estate Agents are also encouraged to inform Clients who list Houses for sale with them, to ask their Clients to make sure that the House Plans reflect any alterations made to the property; otherwise a Rates Clearance will not be given until the situation is rectified and new plans submitted. This will also result in extra costs and can cause much frustration.

As from 2011 Energy Efficient housing will be compulsory. Ratepayers to be fore warned that when plans are submitted in the future a full list of all contractors will have to be lodged simultaneously.

Calibre Security and the CPF have formulated a proposal to the Ratepayers of SFB for the payment of R75 per month per erf to purchase CCTV Cameras for security in the Village. Click here to read the proposal.

Ann Knight (portfolio of Social Services) would like to start a soup kitchen for the clinic, up at Sea Vista. Patients at the clinic should have something to eat before they take their ARV or TB tablets. Ann is already making a pot of samp and beans once a week and if there were enough people, this task could be shared amongst them. Ann has the recipes and can be contacted on 0422490590 or email: knighta@mweb.co.za

An Orchid for Tony Yoell for offering his services at the Eye Clinic at Sea Vista and Brian Dowling of Spec Savers for donating equipment to the Eye Clinic.

Regards,

Paddy.
